Agility:
The ability to go fast is a major benefit in most sports, but sometimes of most importance is the ability to decelerate, change direction, and then accelerate quickly. Agility is specific to the movement we do. Different movements for sport require different muscles involved in the movement, and different co-ordination of muscle these from the nervous system.
Thus, agility is both a learned skill specific to the movements required, and a physical task requiring us to absorb and then produce force. Our gym and field methods improve agility, which may be the difference between you decelerating to mark an attacker who in tern quickly accelerates to lose you. You are then able to swiftly change direction and accelerate after him to stop him from scoring.
In modern sport today, where the difference between winning and losing can be millimetres, don’t find your self trailing behind in the agility stakes.
